The UCLA Bruins are undefeated at 3-0 after they beat South Alabama this Saturday, but the fan base seems to be nonexistent when it comes to support.
The UCLA Bruins defeated the South Alabama Jaguars 32-31 on Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with a last-minute field goal, but even the excitement of a win couldn’t hide the fact that fans weren’t there to celebrate.
Former UCLA and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman called the emptiness of Rose Bowl Stadium “embarrassing” and also took a shot at how poorly the team played on Saturday.
“This is an embarrassment but we couldn’t fill the Rose Bowl in 1988 when we were the #1 team in the country. Anyone else at UCLA think it’s time for an on-campus 30,000 seat stadium? Of course, if we can’t play better than we did today, it would be half-empty too.”
UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 20 of 30 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns.
The Bruins are 3-0 this season, but they have yet to face a ranked opponent and won’t do so until they face No. 14 Utah next month.
