Spencer Rattler has a lot to prove in 2022. And he seems to be off to a good start.
Last year was supposed to be a big season for the former five-star quarterback. He began the season as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback and was a preseason favorite for the Heisman Trophy. But things fell apart pretty quickly and by the middle of the season, during a game against rival Texas, he was benched in favor of Caleb Williams and never regained the starting role again.
Following the season, Rattler announced that he would be transferring to South Carolina, where he’ll hope to make the Gamecocks a contender in the SEC while also trying to position himself nicely for the 2023 NFL Draft.
Rattler will obviously have to show that he can perform on game day, but for the time being, he’s doing all he can to show the world his insane talent.
While attending the Manning Camp this week, Rattler left many in awe by connecting on what appears to be a 70-yard dime with his wideout. (He releases it at his own 30 and appears to hit the receiver in the end zone.)

There’s no doubt that was a beautiful throw. And the former Sooner made it look so effortless. But the reaction from Twitter was understandably mixed, as many are still waiting for him to do this while lining up against an opposing SEC defense.
Here are some of the reactions from Twitter:
Try it when he has to read a defense

Let’s see him step up in the pocket, stay on schedule and deliver strikes with a defender in his face. Wish him well!
