Former Iowa State Football Player Dead After Being Brutally Sucker-Punched During Fight (VIDEO)

Gregory Coleman was pronounced dead nearly two weeks after being attacked by two men earlier this month outside of a bar.

“The whole thing is very disgusting and disturbing and it’s heartbreaking. It just makes me really disappointed that there are people out there like this that are this horrible,” said Glenay Coleman to 10tv.com

It all began when the former star football player in high school was standing and eating on the sidewalk while talking to some women in front of the Julep Bar at 1014 North High St. A man, who has been identified as Chrystian Foster, came up and wanted to engage in a fight.

Coleman dropped his food and prepared to fight Foster. After Coleman faked a right hand that made Foster stumble backward into a parked vehicle, Dwayne Cummings comes in and sucker punches Coleman in the face, knocking him out cold.

Coleman falls backward, striking his head on the street. Foster then makes it worst by standing over him and striking him at least twice before walking away. Cummings then stands over Coleman and slaps him at least once.

Coleman was transported to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition with skull fractures and brain bleeding. According to court records, Coleman remained in a coma and on a ventilator until he finally passed away.

The charges against Foster and Cummings have been upgraded from attempted murder to murder.

As a football player, Coleman took his talents to Iowa State and later Montana University. The 37-year-old former football player was a manager at a bar in Ohio when he was assaulted.
