Deion Sanders Removes Bishop Thomas From The Colorado Buffaloes Roster

The Colorado Buffaloes are making significant changes after finishing last season at 4-8. The latest move by head coach Deion Sanders involves dismissing Bishop Thomas from the program.

Sanders, 56, along with the Buffaloes, have let go of three-star recruit Bishop Thomas, who was a former transfer from Florida State.

A report by Buffs Beat first disclosed the dismissal of Bishop Thomas from the Colorado Buffaloes football team, citing his suspension for violating team rules. Thomas, who played as a defensive lineman, saw action in nine games last season. He contributed with two total pressures, four tackles, and a fumble recovery across 53 run defense snaps and 64 pass rushing snaps.

Although the Buffaloes did not officially announce Thomas’s suspension, the Amazon docuseries “Coach Prime” referenced that he was suspended and his status was still being evaluated.

Before his dismissal, Thomas had not participated in any offseason conditioning drills. Sanders also brought in two new defensive linemen, Quency Wiggins from LSU and Samuel Okunlola from Pittsburgh through the transfer portal.

The Buffaloes ended last season with a record of 4-8, starting strong at 3-0 with wins over TCU Horned Frogs, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Colorado State Rams but struggled afterward.

Shedeur Sanders, the starting quarterback and son of Coach Prime, missed the final game of the season against Utah Utes due to multiple injuries.

The Buffaloes are gearing up for their spring game scheduled for April 27, with various events planned, including musical performances.

As they head into the 2024 season, the Buffaloes, with changes to the offensive line, a new offensive coordinator in Pat Shurmur, and other enhancements, aim to perform better as they compete in the Big 12 conference.
