College Football World Going Nuts Over South Carolina’s Live Rooster Possibly Getting NSFW Nickname (TWEETS)

South Carolina’s live rooster mascot is about to debut a name change and social media is going crazy over it.

South Carolina’s live mascot, Sir Big Spur, will receive a new nickname before the start of the 2022 college football season. The change is because of a disagreement between the bird’s original owners and new owners.

The original owners trimmed the rooster’s comb — the red, fleshy area on its head — to make the bird look more like a fighting Gamecock. The Clarks have opted to keep the comb intact, citing the health benefits to the bird.

A few suggestions have been tossed around on social media and they include Cluck Norris, Marco Pollo and Cock Commander.

As expected, social media went nuts over these names:

The Clarks, for now, have changed the Twitter handle of the rooster simply to “mascot.”
