Gun violence in this country and yet again taken a great man away from his family and friends.
A youth football team is mourning their beloved coach after he was shot and killed Tuesday night after practice and it all went down in front of his players.
37-year-old Jermaine Knox died in front of his players outside the College Hill Recreation Facility on Larch Avenue, WXIX reported.
Knox was killed and the other man was shot in his leg as they were standing in the street after practice when a third man approached and started shooting, according to police.
“You could just hear … kids crying and screaming,” said JoAnn Wolf, who lives down the road from where Jermaine Knox coached youth football.

A witness, Al Gray, said he heard an argument late Tuesday night that prompted him to look out his window.
“I saw the car that was surrounded here pull out from the lot down there at the rec center and pull up here to the stop sign,” Gray said. “The guy got out of the car on his phone and stumbled over there and died.”
Knox was a well-known and well-liked coach of the Trojan Black team.
An emotional vigil was held for him on Wednesday.
