Mayhem was about to ensue at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville after the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers knocked off the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide earlier today. And the referees knew it.
Immediately after Chase McGrath kicked a 40-yard, game-winning field-goal to win it at the end of regulation, the fans began to storm the field to celebrate the victory. Not wanting to get trampled by the stampede of Volunteers supporters, the officials under the goal posts could be seen scampering for their lives immediately after signaling that the field-goal was good.
You can see them dodge a few players while trying to get the heck out of there:

We can only hope that those refs made it out of there unscathed. Unfortunately, the goal posts weren’t so lucky.
