A Russian hockey player has tragically lost his young life after being hit in the head by the puck during a game. He was just 19-years-old.
Defenseman Timur Faizutdinov was playing for Dynamo St. Petersburg’s junior team in a playoff game against Loko Yaroslavl this past Friday when he got hit by a puck. He collapsed and was treated on the ice by the team doctor and paramedics before being taken to a hospital.

Things unfortunately took a turn for the worse when the Junior Hockey League said Faizutdinov died Tuesday after “doctors fought for Timur’s life over the course of three days.”
The team’s upcoming quarterfinal game Tuesday will be held in Faizutdinov’s memory and will start with a moment of silence.
“Forever at Dynamo,” the team’s statement continued. “Forever in our hearts.”
